Ujyalo Foundation Nepal is Nepal young women-led not-for-profit, established in 2014 with a vision to enhance the number of women in decision making roles. It is the only leadership and idea incubation Institution in Nepal for women, that caters to a wide range of age groups from 12 years and above.
Since its inception, Ujyalo Foundation has run various leadership institutes for women of diverse age groups, to build their capacity on leadership via the lens of gender, sexuality and intersectionality. Till date, we have 510 leaders (cis and trans women and girls).
Ujyalo Foundation also focuses on sustainable development in rural Nepal by conducting programs that promote innovation, encourage social enterprise, and increase capacity building through community based projects, cost effective technologies and gender-inclusive leadership. The Foundation is a purpose driven, dynamic, and impact oriented organisation, which believes in creating a gender just world for all.
Ujyalo Foundation wants to create a world where women from all backgrounds, varied gender identity and sexual orientation can be in leadership and decision making roles. Where they can learn and lead without stigma, impunity and violence.
By the end of 2020 Ujyalo Foundation plans to create an alliance of 550 women leaders who can lead change in their own communities. propelling a diverse and inclusive leadership in Nepal.
