Ujyalo Photo Competition! ‘MEET MY SHEro for 2019’ is going to be organized to celebrate Ujyalo Foundation’s alums working women allies during this year’s International Women’s Day. Our program alums (EmpowHER, EmpowHER Junior, and Women Leadership Summit), are engaged in a diverse field of work. During their journey, we have felt the need to boost up their motivation to appreciate the leadership journey together with their mentee. Till date, we have more than 150 alumni from our various leadership programs who have their own stories to share based on their field of work.
As we know, one single photograph defines a thousand stories, so we are looking for that one particular photo that narrates your SHERo’s story of life and philosophy to drive their work life.
We request all our alums to enter our Ujyalo Photo Competition! ‘MEET MY SHEro for 2019’ We are looking for unique and eye-catching photos along with a short story taken by our alumni to exhibit in the 2019 edition of Canvas And Cocktail Dinner program. One winning photo will be awarded a prize money Rs.10,000 which needs to be divided equally among the story writer and the main character of the story.
The competition is open from February 08 until Feb 28 where the participants are expected to submit one candid photo of their ‘SHEro’ in a workplace setting. The theme ‘Meet My SHEro’ idealizes and promotes working women with whom our alumni from various programs of Ujyalo Foundation (EmpowHER, EmpowHER Junior, Women Leadership Summit) have collaborated over the years and are in a phase where they want to promote each other’s work in a universal platform using universal language ‘photograph’. Alumni can enter in this competition with a maximum of two entries where they can introduce to us two of their women leaders who they think are in need of an introduction to the society.
Theme
Celebrating inspirational and motivational figures of our alumni of Ujyalo Foundation who they think are the driving force of change in their journey of leadership.
Prizes!
The 5 best entries for ‘Meet my SHEro’ will have their photo exhibited in the 2019 edition of Canvas and Cocktail Dinner. The one winning SHEros will be publicly facilitated on the very day along with cash prize Rs 10,000.

Submission Guidelines:

Deadline for entries is midnight (Nepal Standard time) on Thursday, February 28, 2019.

Entries must be in JPEG format and emailed to meetmyshero.ujyalo@gmail.com with “Meet My SHEro – Alumni Full Name” in the subject line.

In the email please include your full name; a program that you were alumni of, the date the photograph was taken; an up-to-date phone number; and your current job position and organization if applicable (only your full name, program and year you were involved in UF will be made public).

Please provide a short story for your photos (maximum 250- 300 words), the story of the person you are inspired from – this will be included in the exhibition and may appear in other print and digital publications and on social media. The caption may be edited.

If identifiable individuals appear in your photo, please ensure that you have their permission before submission.

Photos must have been taken within the past two-three years.

No more than two entries per person will be entertained.

Entries will be judged on originality, quality, composition, and appropriateness to the theme.

All entries will be made public through Facebook.

Entries may be used for promotional purposes e.g. Ujyalo Foundation’s website, social media, Annual Report, prospectus, exhibitions, postcards, and others.

Copyright – by entering the competition, competitors warrant that they own the copyright in their photograph and they give consent to the Ujyalo Foundation to store the image and reproduce it in any Ujyalo Foundation’s publication or medium.

If for any reasons, the contest does not proceed as planned, due to any causes beyond the control of the organizing committee that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, the organizing committee reserves the right, to disqualify any individual(s) who tamper with the entry process, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Festival.
