EmpowHER Junior 2019-2020 Changemakers

Anisha Tamang, (Gyan Jyoti Mahila Vidyalaya), 15 years, is a Changemaker of EmpowHER Junior 2019-2020. Her project “Lotus” helps 10 young girls age 9 to 16 years in Gorsyang, Nuwakot regarding menstruation hygiene by focusing on wearing sanitary pads and staying hygienic during their menstrual cycle.

 

Anusha Rajbhandari, (Rato Bangala School), 13 years, is one of the Changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2019-2020. Her project “Raise Your Voice and Break the Silence” helps to aware 15-20 young girls aged 10-12 years from Rato Bangla School and Mount Makalu School about sexual assault with the help of a facilitator from the Ujyalo Foundation.

 

Manushi Dangol (Rato Bangala School), 13 years, is one of the Changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2019-2020. Her project “Feeling Free” helps to aware 8 to 12 girls of 13 to 21 years from Chakupat, Lalitpur about harmful traditional practices during menstruation along with their guardians.

 

Nawami Okheda, (Gyan Jyoti Mahila Vidyalaya), 16 years, is one of the Changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2019-2020. Her project “Education on Menstruation Hygiene” helps to 20 girls of 12 to 16 years from Gyan Jyoti Mahila School on providing awareness on menstrual hygiene through education on various types of sanitary napkins and environment-friendly ways to dispose them.  

 

Nupur Phuyal, (Aksharaa School), 12 years, is one of the Changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2019-2020. Her project, “We All Red Blooded” helps on creating awareness about the Queer community to 70 to 75 students of Grade 7 to 9 from Aksharaa School through interactive sessions, videos, and article writing.

 

Ojashwi Sharma (Rato Bangala School), 12 years, is one of the Changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2019-2020. Her project “On My Cycle” helps to minimize the lack of menstrual hygiene in 12 to 14 year old girls of  Budhanilkantha Model Community through showing videos, holding discussions and a play including a workshop to make eco-friendly sanitary pads.

 

Prakriti Karki ( Aksharaa School), 15 years, is one of the Changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2019-2020. Her project “You First ” helps on enhancing self-esteem in 50 students of Grade 7 to 9 from Aksharaa School with the help of school counselors and students through awareness sessions, and group poster competition. 

 

Purnika Wasti ( Aksharaa School), 13 years, is one of the Changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2019-2020. Her project “Chezz It Up ” provides basic training to 30-40 girls of Grade 4 to 9 from Aksharaa School on playing chess alongside forming a chess club with coaches and participants.

 

Sajana Khadka (Siddhartha Public School), 13 years, is one of the Changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2019-2020. Her project “Aatma Swikriti” will help to bring awareness on body positivity to 30 students of ages 11 to 16  years from grade 6 to 9 by organising interschool speech competition at Siddhartha Public Academy, Rising Rays and two other schools

 

Sakina Khatun (J.P School), 14 years, is one of the Changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2019-2020. Her project “Breaking the Silence on Menstruation” will help to provide awareness to the girls of age 12-15 years from class 5 to 9 at J.P School on hormonal changes during menstruation and its proper management.

 

Shristi Thapa Magar (Budanilkantha Ashram School), 15 years, is one of the Changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2019-2020. Her project “Awakening” will help to provide awareness programs about safe touch and unsafe touch to 50 to 60 girls from Grade 5 to 8 of Budhanilkantha Ashram School by providing self-defense classes.

 

Sushma Dahal (Siddhartha Public School), 14 years, is one of the Changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2019-2020. Her project “Effort of Sisterhood to Bring Equality” will help to train 20  girls of ages 12 to 15 years from Grade 6 to 9 at Siddhartha Public School in Kabaddi to bring equality in Kabaddi and sports at large. 

 

Suvechhya Trikhatri (Bouddha International School), 14 years, is one of the Changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2019-2020. Her project “I am Human” will help on building acceptance of LGBTI community in Meridian International School by conducting interactive awareness programs on LGBTI rights with  60 to 70 students of Grade 8 and 9, along with their teachers and coordinators.

Tejaswi Amatya (Rato Bangla School ), 13 years, is one of the Changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2019-2020. Her project “Sport Her” will help to coach 11 girls of ages 12 to 14 years from  Rato Bangala School in playing football with the assistance of the coordinator, PE teacher, and guardians.
