EmpowHER Junior 2018 Changemakers

 

Aishwarya Yogi, (Rato Bangala school), 13 years old, is a change maker of EmpowHER Junior 2018. Her project “Nirbhik” helps 10 to 16-year-old boys and girls in three different government schools in Kathmandu to minimize child sexual exploitation through informative interactive sessions and a play about child sexual exploitation.

 

Deepsana Nepali (Budhanilkantha Ashram school), 14 years, is one of the change-makers of EmpowHER Junior 2018. Her project “GIRL POWER” helps 25 boys and girls aged between 12 to 16 from grade 8 to 10 in Budhanilkantha Ashram school and makes them aware about menstrual hygiene by forming an interactive club and holding discussions.

Dipaashna Gurung (Sanskriti School), 14, is one of the change makers of EmpowHER Junior 2018. Her project “Stop, Open and Accept (S.O.A)” helps 40 young girls and boys of age 12 to 15 by conducting a three-day reflection and games session in two private schools and one government school in Kathmandu to reduce gender discrimination and help them accept themselves.

 

 

Durga Poudyal (Padmakanya School), 13 years, is a changemaker of EmpowHER Junior 2018. Her project HAPPY WOMEN GIRL focuses to reduce women violence among 30 girls of class 4 to 7 of Padmakanya School by making them perform drama and through presentation along with posters.

Jeshika Sharma (Akshara school), 12 years, is one of the change-makers of EmpowHER Junior 2018. Her project “ONE HAND 10 SUPPORT” helps (12-14 years) 10 adolescent girls of Akshara school altogether with their mothers to reduce the problem of menstruation and social exclusion by interactive sessions and distributing comics that would give knowledge about menstruation.

Jenny Bista, (Akshara School), 13 YEARS, is one of the changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2018.  Safer Walls aims to help students of grade 6 to 9 to create a safer environment on the internet for students by giving powerpoint presentations and distributing brochures.

Lakshana RL Rana, (The British School), 14 years, is one of the change-makers of EmpowHER Junior 2018. Her project, “STRANGER DANGER”; helps 16 young girls aged 9-19, from the Saathi organization shelter by raising awareness about cybercrime through an interactive session which includes presentations and painting the walls in the duration of two to three weeks.

 

Livana Tuladhar (Bagmati Boarding school), 12 years, is one of the change-makers of EmpowHER Junior 2018. Her project “HANDICRAFT” helps the elderly people above the age of 60 with 10 to 20 people from her community and helps to solve the problem of inactivity. It will involve young girls for help to display the handicrafts made by the elderly. This event would promote their skills and build their hopes and self-satisfaction.

Prapti Habi Silwa, (Rato Bangla School), 13 years old, is a changemaker of EmpowHER Junior 2018. Her project ‘Janachetana’ will help 15 women of age group 20 -40 years in her community in Suychater by raising awareness about diabetes and tis defect through a presentation and documentary and also have a check up campaign after graduation.

Rajani Shrestha (AGM secondary school), 14 years, is one of the change-makers of EmpowHER Junior 2018. Her project “CLIMATE REALITY” helps 40 young girls and boys of age 11 to 17 from grades 7 to 10 of AGM School to raise awareness about the effects of climate change by conducting a drama competition with the theme of waste management from.


Sapana Shrestha (Padma Kanya School), 15 years,
is one of the change-makers of EmpowHER Junior 2018. Her project “HUMAN RIGHTS” helps students from grades 8 to 9 between 12 to 16 years that includes 15 girls from Padma Kanya School to reduce girl’s exploitation by conducting dramas of Human rights and skits and raising awareness by pasting posters in my school.

 

Sneh Manandhar, (Sanskriti School), 14 years, is one of the change-makers of EmpowHER Junior 2018. Her project the “STEREO BREAKER” helps (12-16 years) 40 girls and boys of two different government school which aims to eliminate mitigate discrimination between all genders by conducting interactive sessions. Presentations about gender discrimination and story writing competition will be done amongst themselves with the theme of women violence and gender discrimination.

Stuti Shrestha (St. Xavier’s school), 13 years, is one of the change-makers of EmpowHER Junior 2018. Her project “SAFE CONNECTION” will be conducted in St.Xaviers to help 25 individuals of class 7 to minimize the case of cyberbullying by conducting interactive sessions with presentations and a Q/A round.
