Communications Coordinator| Job Description
Ujyalo Foundation is looking for a Communications Coordinator with strong designing, writing, video editing, and social media management skills to document, write, and showcase stories of the Foundation’s programs, projects, and activities.
Ujyalo Foundation is a feminist organization working to ensure spaces of meaningful representation and participation of women, girls, and nonbinary individuals in leadership and decision-making roles. About the Role
The Communications Coordinator is an individual who is responsible for designing all the communication materials for social media, creating content, and designing and implementing effective communication strategies to expand the public outreach and information sharing of the Foundation’s work and vision. The personnel will also devise the Foundation’s internal and external communication strategy, lead communication and media campaigns, respond to inquiries on social media platforms, and creatively engage with the audience.
The Communications Coordinator will closely work with the interns, Program Coordinators, and the Leads to perform their roles and responsibilities. An ideal candidate for this position would be someone who can think creatively, is agile when working in teams, and brings up new ideas compounded with innovative designing skills and proficient social media management skills.

V. Employment type: Full-time (Monday to Friday, working hours are from 9:00 am -5:30 pm)
VI. Roles and Responsibilities
The main objective of this position is to manage the Foundation’s communication and social media channels by developing and implementing communication materials, including strong social media content and campaigns. The personnel will also create content for all communication and media platforms (social, digital, and in print), and handle the Foundation’s media channel, including engaging with the audience, tracking media analytics and metrics, and documenting the media outreach and coverage narratives. The personnel will also be responsible for upholding the Foundation’s brand value through the communication channels adhering to the branding and visibility guidelines.
A. Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement communication strategies to increase visibility and information sharing.
- Develop internal and external communication materials such as social media posts, newsletters, infographics, booklets, annual reports, press-release, impact reports, program-related videos flyers and brochures, and other types of content that spread the message to the public.
- Design and publish program-related materials (informational, knowledge, promotional), and impact reports periodically or as needed.
- Develop compelling social media content that increases followers and amplifies engagement.
- Document and manage all the communications materials such as photos, audio, videos, and publications for programmatic activities as needed.
- Manage social media platforms – respond to inquiries and establish social media relationships
- Maintain voice across different social media channels.
- Film and edit short programmatic videos as needed from a feminist perspective.
- Solicit and finalize potential vendors for publication and print works.
B. Reporting, Monitoring, and Evaluation
- Conduct review meetings with vendors as needed to meet communication goals and agendas for programs and the organization.
- Collaborate with team members from the programs team to curate engaging content for the monthly newsletter.
- Schedule and facilitate regular team meetings to discuss ongoing communication activities and upcoming goals.
- Develop comprehensive quarterly reports and annual reports.
- Regularly monitor social media platforms to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
C. Communication and Documentation
- Periodically communicate best practices/learnings from the programs internally and externally.
- Work with team members to document relevant data and evidence produced in the Foundation’s program.
- Communicate with the donor(s), if needed for reporting and programmatic discussion.
- Maintain proper digital media archives including database, photos, videos, audio, raw footage, social media content, and flyer templates.
- Ensure that all communication materials are in line with the Foundation’s values and practices.
- Work with external consultants to develop media content as needed.
D. Technical Skills
- Utilize digital tools and analytics to track and optimize the impact of online communication efforts.
- Proficient knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, and/or any other tools to design and develop content for various channels.
- Knowledge of video editing software to create and edit video content for various channels
- Basic skills for website content management.
- Basic photography and editing skills for professional use on the website and other social media platforms.
VII. Required Qualification, Experience, and Skills
- At least 1-2 years of experience in designing, content development, and social media management with experience working in a team.
- Skilled with graphic design video editing and production in Adobe Suite or similar platforms.
- Exceptional written communication, multi-tasking, networking, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and YouTube.
- Hands-on experience with web content management tools.
- Flexibility to work with multiple deadlines.

IX. Salary Range: 30k-35k monthly
