EmpowHER Junior 2017 Changemakers

Adity Sapkota (Olympia World H.S School), 12 years,  is one of the changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2017. Her project ‘Not in our School’  helps those students in the school who are bullied. She plans to help them stand and speak for themselves against the harassment caused by their friends or elders by raising awareness, role plays, seminars and various creative ways.

 

Anugya Koirala (Sanskriti School), 13 years,  is one of the changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2017. Her project ‘Prabhav’ focuses on decreasing the infection rate in students by improving the sanitation and hygiene status in one of the schools near her community. It is important for this project to be implemented in various schools having such issues. The target group of this project is 10-13 years old of some underdeveloped schools in Kathmandu. Along with sanitation, she plans to work for the overall well being of a child.

 

Aria Shree Prasai (Rato Bangla), 14 years, is one of the changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2017. Her project ‘Pahichaan’aims to provide a floor for bullied victims from ages 12 to 16 to be able to portray their stories in the form of plays. This encourages them to speak up and accept their inevitable past.

Aarya Silwal (Rato Bangla School), 14 years, is one of the changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2017. Her project Sambad aims to increase interaction between parents and children by conducting various interaction programs between girls of ages 12 – 16 years at Rato Bangla School

Dipti Sharma (Rato Bangla), 12 years, is one of the changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2017. Her project ‘Environment Cleaning’ is to keep roads, streets and the surroundings near her community clean and make it a dirt free community. At the end of this project I am sure our environment will be a lot more clean and our country will be a much better and cleaner country.

Prerana Tamang (Shree Chilaune), 14 years, is one of the changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2017. Her plan with her project ‘ICT & Media’ plan is to launch internet services for probable households in the village she is currently residing. She want to provide a better platform to local businesses for it to flourish and help local business ideas of the villagers to make it reachable and increase their overall access  to social networks.

Priya Rajbhandary (Ullens School),16 years,  is one of the changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2017. Knowing that 1 in every 3 women are sexually harassed, and in light of all of the sexual harassment allegations coming forward, we must take a stand. Providing self defense classes, can prove to a small scale solution to a large scale problem. By doing this, we are not only generations students capable of protecting themselves, but equipping them with the confidence to step out into this world.

Sandhya Tamang, (Chilaune Secondary School),13 years,  is on of the changemakers of EmpwHER Junior 2017. Her project works in improving public health and sanitation of the villages in Thangaplkot -2, Sindhupalchowk by conducting first aid training, distributing first aid boxes and filters  to the villagers.

Sanskriti Phuyal (Aksharaa), 14 years, is one of the changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2017. Her project ‘Sports Competition for Girls’ mainly focuses on solving the problem of ‘Gender inequality’ by organizing Sports Competition for girls of grade six to nine of four different schools

Shreeya Gautam (Triyog), 15 years,  is one of the changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2017. Her project ‘Career Success’ helps to produce passionate, confident and hardworking manpower for our country, to take their interests further through various career related speeches and interaction programs for middle school students.

Sneha Jha (Arniko Higher Secondary School), 13 years,  is one of the changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2017. Her project ‘Don’t use PLASTIC be FANTASTIC’ aims to create awareness about the negative impact of plastic bags and promote the use of cotton bags. As children are the future of any nation, she wants to engage school children in creating the awareness among their parents and friends.

Sparcy Mainali (Aksharaa School),14 years,  is one of the changemakers of EmpowHER Junior 2017. Her project ‘STEM Skills from a Girl to Girls’ Sparcy’ aims to empower the girls of Grade 6 of Aksharaa School, to help them learn technical skills so that they’ll be confident and competitive in their field of interest.
