Ujyalo Foundation was established in 2014 with a vision to enhance the number of women in decision making roles. Ujyalo Foundation is the only leadership and idea incubation institution for women that caters to a wide range of age group from 12 years and above.

The Design and Media Intern will directly work with the Communications Officer to strengthen and enhance internal and external communication of the organization. The Officer will produce reports, newsletters, and other communication tools to share Foundation’s work and impact in the most creative and innovative way. The Officer will also use multi-media tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and others to create and manage communication portfolio of the organization. The ideal candidate for this position is an individual who is creative, innovative, and has adept written skills to convey the work of the Foundation with simplicity to a wider audience.
Reports to: Communications Officer
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core: The Design and Media Intern will manage the following communications aspect of the organization both internal and external.
Responsibilities:
- Research and write news and create vibrant stories and create blog posts and social media content (Flyers and other promotional contents)
- Create news from events that have been scheduled
- Design timely and relevant social media content
- Assist in editing and producing blog posts and social media
- Lead research projects to help create strategic digital plans and to update HRC database
Qualifications:
- Experience writing and editing blog posts and language for various social media platforms
- Should have an enthusiasm in working with Social media writing style with professional capacity (i.e. creating content and posting for a brand or organization)
- Knowledge and Interest in content creation for newspapers and social media
- Experience working with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premier is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Other:
- This is a paid internship. A limited amount of funds are available for internship and will be provided based on need and a commitment to diversity.
- School credit is available upon request.
- This is an inhouse internship where the candidate is expected to meet certain working hours inside the office.
- Internships will be for a maximum period of 6 months and the ideal candidate will assist in projects associated to EmpowHER Junior and Women Leadership Summit.
